PROJECT EXPERIENCE
At Spatial Planning Innovations, LLC, we work closely with our clients to meet each opportunity that comes our way. No matter how complex or involved each new project is, we have the versatility and expertise to achieve your goals. Check out a small sample of our project experience below. While these projects have been chosen to demonstrate our experience with complex site development projects, we have provided similar services for commercial, institutional, and residential projects as well.
CARBON FIBER MANUFACTURING FACILITY
South Carolina
A greenfield industrial site development consisting of approximately 150 acres of site disturbance, 2 million cubic yards of earthwork, relocation of high-voltage overhead power lines, and installation of several thousand linear feet of various pressurized and gravity underground utility systems. Unique opportunities on this project included careful consideration of construction phasing and vast areas of slope stabilization.
FOOD PRODUCTION FACILITY ASRS SYSTEM
Arkansas
Although designed as a high-rise, rack-supported automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) to minimize the required footprint, this project was located at an operating food production facility and required special attention to construction logistics and existing conditions. Offset of floodplain impacts, relocation of existing underground utility systems, installation of new underground utilities, re-routing existing stormwater drainage patterns, and reconfiguration/addition of truck maneuvering and trailer storage areas highlight the complexity of this project.
BIOMASS PELLET FACILITY
North Carolina
Consisting of several process equipment islands connected by conveyor systems, this project required special attention to site grading, drainage, and paving. Over 15,000 linear feet of new industrial storage track encircle this site which required critical coordination of rail elevations at the main turnout and lead track, as well as at the state highway crossing. Several underground utility systems were required to serve the process, including a lift station and force main system connected to a header at the septic dispersion field.
FLUFF PULP FACILITY EXPANSION
Arkansas
This existing facility included a building expansion in order to house new process equipment which required a new industry track and turnout to bring rail cars into the expansion. The industry track required a new three-sided box culvert to cross an existing jurisdictional stream. Relocation of underground utilities was also required to accommodate the expansion.
FOOD PACKAGING PRODUCTS WAREHOUSE EXPANSION
Texas
Development of this site required undercut and replacement of several feet of near-surface soils to reduce the vertical rise potential associated with fat clays. Underground utility systems were extended to allow for future expansion possibilities. An N-Pentane unloading containment area and associated underground piping, as well as a wastewater metering system highlight a few of the complexities associated with the project.
MAJOR NORTH AMERICAN TIRE MANUFACTURER EARTHMOVER TIRE FACILITY
South Carolina
A greenfield site with over 500,000 square feet under roof for the first phase, this facility required master planning to allow for the infrastructure necessary to support future expansion potential. Several large diameter underground utility systems were required to support future development potential. Unique opportunities associated with this project included a wastewater pretreatment system with oil/water separation, flow measurement, automatic sampling and storage, lift station, and more than a mile of force main required to connect to the municipal sewer line.
